Chatbot Automation & Visual Workflows

Puhera chatbot automation lets you design conversation flows on a visual canvas without writing code. Each flow starts with a trigger (intent detected, keyword or every conversation) and continues with one or more actions: a lead capture form, sending an email, quick-reply buttons, an external HTTP request (webhook) or connecting to a live agent. The bot doesn't just answer; it gets things done.

At a glance

  • Triggers Intent detected, keyword, always (every conversation)
  • Actions Lead form, email, quick-reply buttons, webhook, connect to a live agent
  • Interface No-code visual canvas
  • Plan note Lead capture and live agent handoff on Pro and Enterprise

What is chatbot automation?

Chatbot automation means the bot carries out a task you defined in advance whenever a certain situation comes up. The AI answers the question; automation goes further by opening a form, sending an email or passing the conversation to a person.

Say a furniture store's visitor asks about delivery times: the bot answers. When the visitor adds "I'd also like assembly," an automation can step in and open a contact form.

Every automation in Puhera has two parts: a trigger (what starts the flow?) and an action (what happens when it starts?). You draw them as blocks and connections on a visual canvas.

Which triggers are available?

  • Intent detected: Fires once the bot understands what the visitor wants. Intents like "I'd like a quote", "where's my order" or "I want to talk to someone" can be caught even when phrased in different words.
  • Keyword: Fires when a specific word such as "refund", "invoice" or "promo" appears in a message. Good for precise, predictable rules.
  • Always: Fires on every conversation. Use it for steps that apply to everyone, like showing quick-reply buttons after the welcome message.

Which actions can you run?

  • Lead capture form: Collects details like name, email or phone inside the chat. See the lead capture chatbot page.
  • Send email: For example, notifies your sales team when a new quote request comes in.
  • Quick-reply buttons: Offers clickable options like "Shipping", "Returns" or "Product picks".
  • External HTTP request (webhook): Passes an event from the conversation to your own system or another service. A webhook is an HTTP request sent automatically to another address when something happens.
  • Connect to a live agent: Hands the visitor to your team through a priority queue. See live chat and human handoff.

What do example flows look like?

Quote request (B2B services): "I'd like a quote" intent detected → lead form opens → email goes to the sales team.

Returns routing (e-commerce): "refund" keyword appears → the bot explains the return policy with its source → a "Talk to an agent" button appears → the visitor connects to a live agent if they choose.

Welcome menu (any industry): Fires on every conversation → shows "Products", "My order" and "Support" buttons.

Notify your own system: A specific intent is detected → a webhook sends a request to your own infrastructure.

Start with the 3 to 5 scenarios you see most, then expand as you review conversations. See every capability on the features page.

How do you set up an automation in Puhera?

  1. Define the scenario

Be clear about the situation you want to automate and the outcome you want at the end.

  2. Pick a trigger

Decide whether the flow starts on a detected intent, a keyword or every conversation.

  3. Add actions

Line up form, email, button, webhook or agent handoff actions on the canvas.

  4. Try it in preview

Type messages with different wording to check the flow fires at the right moment.

  5. Publish and refine

Publish the bot and improve triggers and actions over time based on real conversations.

Do I need to code to build Puhera automations?

No. You connect triggers and actions on a visual canvas without writing code.

What is the difference between an intent trigger and a keyword trigger?

A keyword trigger fires when a specific word appears. An intent trigger relies on understanding what the visitor wants, so it can catch different phrasings too.

Where do leads collected by an automation go?

The lead form collects details in the chat; you can notify your team with the email action or pass the data to your own system with a webhook. CRM integration is on the Enterprise plan.

What can I do with the webhook action?

The webhook action sends an HTTP request to an address you specify when an event happens in the conversation, so you can kick off a process in your own infrastructure.

Do automations replace the AI answers?

No. The bot keeps answering questions from your knowledge base with cited sources. Automation adds an extra step, such as a form, buttons or a handoff, in the situations you define.

Which automation actions require the Pro plan?

Lead capture and live support (agent handoff) are available on the Pro and Enterprise plans.
