This is the English version of the Puhera Data Deletion Instructions. If it differs from the Turkish version, the Turkish version prevails.
You can have the data Puhera accesses through a Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp connection deleted in three ways; all three are free of charge.
1. From your Facebook settings (automatic)
- On Facebook, go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites. For a business account, use Meta Business Suite → Business Settings → Integrations → Connected apps.
- Find the Puhera app and click Remove.
- Select the option to request that your data be deleted. Meta forwards this request to us automatically.
When the request arrives, the Meta connections of the account that granted permission (including the encrypted access tokens) are permanently deleted, the channels created with that connection are removed and the page tokens on those channels are cleared. Meta shows you a confirmation code and this status page: https://app.puhera.com/meta/data-deletion?code=<confirmation code>. The page does not require sign-in and shows the date the request was completed.
If you only remove the app without selecting the data deletion option, the connections are marked as "revoked" and the channels stop receiving messages; the data is kept until you remove the connection in Puhera or request deletion.
2. From the Puhera dashboard
An organization administrator can remove the connection on the Channels → Facebook connections screen. This removes the connection and all channels created with it. We also recommend revoking the permission on the Meta side in Business Suite.
3. By email
Write to [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request", including your name and the related Facebook Page, Instagram account or WhatsApp number. After verifying your identity, we complete your request within 30 days at the latest and let you know.
Messages you sent to a business
The business is the data controller for the messages you sent to its Puhera assistant on Messenger, Instagram or WhatsApp. Please send your deletion request to that business first; we forward any requests we receive to the business concerned.
Records that are not deleted
Billing records we are legally required to keep and access logs under Turkish Law No. 5651 are kept until their legal retention periods end and are deleted after that. The deletion request itself (confirmation code and date) is kept so we can show that the request was fulfilled; your Meta user ID is not shown on the status page.
See the Privacy Policy for details.
